For six years we have arranged the University of Delaware's
month long study abroad programmes in South Africa. These
have included the following components;
- Volunteer placements in local charities, schools and community
based organisations.
- Hikes into local areas of environmental interest.
- Lectures by prominent local academics on a variety of
subjects from South African history and culture to women's
studies.
- Visits to places of historical, cultural and environmental
interest.
- A four day break in a private game lodge in the Greater
Kruger Park area.
- Accommodation on a Bed and Breakfast basis in a very comfortable
hotel in the Pretoria area for the duration of the core
programme.
- A four day visit to the wonderfully interesting and scenic
city of Cape Town at the end of the progranmme
